Getting  UAE resident visa

A UAE resident visa is a document that allows its owner to stay in the country for a long time, work, do business, open bank accounts, acquire real estate and use double taxation agreements on a par with UAE citizens (if the latter are tax residents of that country). A UAE resident visa entitles you to get a resident certificate.

How to get a UAE resident visa?

There are 3 ways to get a United Arab Emirates resident visa:

Way 1. Register a company (we recommend!)

The advantage of this method is that it is relatively cheap and allows you to combine "business with pleasure" – to do business and live in the UAE. Obtaining a resident visa will allow you to register a company in a free economic zone.

Way 2. Buy real estate.

An expensive option, since real estate in the UAE is expensive. The threshold for the minimum value of assets that entitle you to a visa is determined particularly in each Emirate.

Way 3. Get a job in a local company.

This option is almost cost-free, but it has downsides: an employee of the company can apply for a visa only personally for himself, and he also has no right to change his job.

To obtain a resident visa, a company must meet several requirements:

 - the company must be registered in FEZ and exist for at least 6 months;

- it is necessary to provide an audit report and bank statements for 6 months, as well as a rental agreement of the office for the company.

To get a tax resident certificate, you must provide the following documents:

- bank statement;

- rental agreement of real estate;

- an extract from the migration authorities that specifies the number of days you spent in the territory of the Emirates.

Documents required for obtaining a residence visa:

 - passport;

 - corporate documents of the registered company.

In addition to documents, to obtain a visa, you must take an X-ray of the lungs and take a blood test at an authorized medical center. To obtain an ID card of the resident of the Emirates, you must pass fingerprints and take a photo of the retina.

The validity of a residence visa is 3 years. As this period expires, it can be extended an unlimited number of times. Please note! In order for the resident visa not to be canceled, it is necessary to enter the territory of the UAE at least once every six months.
